Upon arriving in New Delhi, Capt. Amal Ahmed officially joined the international delegation participating in the Familiarization Visit to India Programme, organized by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.

As the only selected participant from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, she completed the official delegate registration process and received her accreditation badge, programme booklet and official identification materials, marking the formal beginning of an extraordinary cultural diplomacy journey.

Delegates representing different countries gathered in New Delhi with a shared objective of promoting international friendship, cultural understanding and people-to-people diplomacy through India's heritage, tourism, history and diverse traditions.

The opening programme provided an opportunity for international delegates to establish professional friendships, exchange cultural perspectives and begin a memorable journey across India under the theme of mutual respect, cooperation and global cultural engagement.

Exploring the Heart of Incredible India – Madhya Pradesh

A Journey Through Heritage, Wildlife and Natural Wonders

Continuing her official Familiarization Visit to India Programme, Capt. Amal Ahmed, representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, travelled through the State of Madhya Pradesh, proudly known as the "Heart of Incredible India". The journey offered a remarkable combination of ancient heritage, breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife and unforgettable cultural experiences.

The visit included the world-renowned Khajuraho Group of Monuments, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built by the Chandela Dynasty between the 9th and 12th centuries. Internationally admired for their intricate stone carvings and exceptional architectural brilliance, these temples represent one of India's greatest cultural treasures.

During her visit to the Panna Tiger Reserve, Capt. Amal observed Bengal tigers, spotted deer, Hanuman langurs and a memorable sight— an elephant with her twin calves. According to the reserve, it was the first recorded case of an elephant giving birth to twins in a single pregnancy, making the wildlife experience truly unique and unforgettable.

Her journey also included the spectacular Raneh Falls and the dramatic Ken River Canyon, renowned for their colourful volcanic granite rock formations sculpted over millions of years. The programme further introduced her to one of Madhya Pradesh's famous diamond mining regions, showcasing another remarkable aspect of the state's natural heritage.

From magnificent temples and protected wildlife to geological wonders and warm interactions with local communities, Madhya Pradesh presented Capt. Amal Ahmed with an inspiring glimpse into India's timeless heritage, natural beauty and enduring commitment to preserving its cultural and environmental treasures.

Concluding an Extraordinary Journey of Cultural Diplomacy

Returning Home with Lasting Memories and Stronger Bonds of Friendship

On 27 November 2025, Capt. Amal Ahmed concluded her official participation in the Government of India Familiarization Visit Programme. Travelling from Khajuraho Airport to Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi, she prepared for her return flight to Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, carrying with her unforgettable memories of an inspiring diplomatic and cultural journey.

Although the return flight from New Delhi to Jeddah was delayed, the waiting time passed almost unnoticed as Capt. Amal Ahmed reflected upon the remarkable experiences of the past nine days. Every destination, every cultural encounter and every friendship recalled the warmth, hospitality and rich heritage she had experienced throughout India.

Throughout her journey, Mr. Vipul Bawa, First Secretary, Embassy of India in Riyadh, and Mr. Deepak, Consul (Consular), Consulate General of India, Jeddah, remained in contact with Capt. Amal Ahmed, thoughtfully checking on her well-being, travel arrangements and overall experience. The programme, organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, was further supported by the dedicated organising team, including Mr. Randhir Jaiswal, Additional Secretary (XP) & Spokesperson, Mr. Dhruv Mishra, Under Secretary (Press Relations), Mr. Amit Raghav, Publicity Officer (XLM), together with Mr. Chandreshwer Singh, Mr. Ravindra Kumar and Mr. Ishu Bhadouria, who served as Media Liaison Officers. Their collective dedication, together with the Government coordinators, heritage officials, security personnel and official tour guides, reflected exceptional professionalism, hospitality and care, transforming the official visit into a truly memorable and lifelong experience.

The friendships built during the Familiarization Visit extended far beyond the official programme. The unwavering support, meticulous organisation and genuine hospitality shown by everyone involved transformed the visit into far more than an official invitation—it became a lifetime memory and a lasting symbol of the enduring friendship between the Republic of India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As the only participant representing the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Capt. Amal Ahmed returned home carrying not only official recognition, treasured memories and meaningful friendships, but also a renewed commitment to strengthening cultural diplomacy and people-to-people understanding between both nations. The journey may have reached its destination, but the bridge of friendship between India and Saudi Arabia continues to grow, inspiring future generations through mutual respect, cultural appreciation and the belief that friendship truly knows no borders.
