📖 Official Narration
Award & Honour No. 002 preserves one of the most unexpected and
meaningful moments in the professional journey of Capt. Mir Shakeel
UrRahman in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. On 12 March 2018, he attended
the Retirees' Honoring Ceremony organized by the General Authority of
Civil Aviation (GACA), an occasion dedicated to honouring retired
employees from the Human Resources & Financial Affairs — Joint
Services Sector.
Capt. Shakeel attended the ceremony together with the Top 1 Bikers team
following the kind invitation of the Late Mr. Ahmed Shamrani, his
respected friend, International Sports Referee and GACA colleague.
His purpose was simply to support his friend, participate in making the
occasion memorable, and join in honouring the distinguished retirees
for their years of dedicated service.
What began as an occasion of friendship and support became an
unforgettable personal milestone. During the ceremony, Capt. Shakeel
was unexpectedly invited onto the stage by GACA's senior management
and presented with a beautifully crafted
Crystal Trophy of Thanks & Appreciation in
recognition of his participation and contribution to the success of
the ceremony.
Receiving this honour carried particular significance because Capt.
Shakeel was, at the time, serving within the GACA Air Navigation
Support Services Projects. The recognition therefore represented more
than participation in a single event; it reflected the professional
relationships, mutual respect and trust developed throughout his years
of service within the Civil Aviation environment.
The Crystal Trophy was presented in the presence of senior officials
of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, including
H.E. Engr. Mohammed A. AlSalmi, Vice President of GACA,
and Dr. Abdullah Alghanmi, Director of Contracts & Finance,
GACA. The Late Mr. Ahmed Shamrani of GACA's Finance Department,
whose invitation had made Capt. Shakeel's participation possible, was
also part of this memorable occasion.
For Capt. Shakeel, standing alongside GACA's senior leadership and
receiving an honour he had never expected remains one of the treasured
memories of his professional journey. The occasion reinforced a
principle that has continued to guide his journey through the years:
sincere participation, friendship and service often carry their own
rewards, even when no recognition is expected in return.
