Recognized by Kalam's World Records for completing a remarkable 6,218 km motorcycle expedition across Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman and Bahrain, promoting friendship, cultural understanding and people-to-people connections.
In September 2025, Capt. Mir Shakeel UrRahman and Capt. Amal Ahmed successfully reached Umling La (19,024 ft), the world's highest motorable road, leading an international expedition representing Saudi Arabia, India and the UAE.
Captured shortly before beginning the descent from Umling La, this photograph represents a moment of gratitude, achievement and reflection. Standing at 19,024 feet above sea level, every challenge, every kilometre and every sacrifice felt worthwhile.
Originally planned as a special gift from Capt. Mir Shakeel to Capt. Amal, this expedition became the beginning of an extraordinary adventure journey. Despite snow, cold weather and high-altitude conditions, the couple successfully reached Khardung La while celebrating the 92nd Saudi National Day.
Returning to Khardung La for a second time, Capt. Mir Shakeel UrRahman and Capt. Amal Ahmed led a group of riders from Saudi Arabia while proudly displaying the Saudi Arabian flag, the Indian national flag and the Indian Saudi Couple Travellers flag, symbolizing friendship and cultural understanding between the two nations.
In September 2025, Capt. Mir Shakeel UrRahman and Capt. Amal Ahmed received official recognition from the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Leh, for their successful expedition to Umling La and their contribution to adventure tourism, cultural exchange and friendship between India and Saudi Arabia.
