GACA Retirees’ Honouring Ceremony
Crystal Trophy of Thanks & Appreciation
An Unexpected Honour
On 12 March 2018, I attended the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Retirees’ Honouring Ceremony in Jeddah, organised to honour retired employees of the Human Resources & Financial Affairs – Joint Services Sector. At the time, I was serving within the GACA Air Navigation Support Services Projects.
I was there at the special invitation of my respected friend, the late Mr. Ahmed Shamrani, an International Sports Referee and GACA employee. I accepted his invitation to support him and honour his retired colleagues, without expecting any recognition for myself.
Recognition from GACA
During the ceremony, GACA’s senior management invited me onto the stage and presented me with a Crystal Trophy of Thanks & Appreciation in recognition of my participation and contribution to the event. This unexpected honour made the occasion a particularly meaningful moment in my professional journey.
The Master Archive records the presence of H.E. Engr. Mohammed A. AlSalmi, Vice President of GACA, and Dr. Abdullah Alghanmi, Director of Contracts & Finance. The original collage preserves the trophy presentation and moments with the officials.
I attended alongside the Top 1 Bikers team, whose participation supported the gathering and helped make the occasion memorable for the retirees. I remain grateful to GACA for this recognition and to Mr. Ahmed Shamrani for his special invitation and friendship.
A Meaningful Professional Milestone
Receiving this recognition while I was still serving on GACA’s Air Navigation Support Services Projects connected my professional responsibilities with an occasion honouring colleagues who had completed their service. The trophy remains a reminder of the value of sincere participation and the professional relationships built through mutual respect.
